Wheated Bourbon
Wheated bourbon is made with wheat instead of rye in the mash bill. The use of wheat produces a more mellow flavor than rye and gives the whiskey a softer, sweeter flavor. Which is why many people consider wheated bourbons to be smoother. There are several well-known wheated bourbons, including Pappy Van Winkle and Weller.
